How we create, review, and maintain the accuracy of our health information

Our commitment: YourHealthXpert is committed to providing accurate, up-to-date, and clinically sound health information that helps UK patients make informed decisions about their health. All health content is produced and reviewed in line with NHS guidance and NICE clinical guidelines.

Content Standards

All health information published on YourHealthXpert meets the following standards:

  • Accuracy: Information is based on current NHS guidance, NICE clinical guidelines, peer-reviewed medical literature, and guidance from professional medical bodies including the British Medical Association (BMA), Royal Colleges, and the MHRA.
  • Independence: Our editorial content is produced independently. Commercial relationships (advertising, sponsored content) do not influence our editorial decisions or recommendations.
  • Transparency: We clearly disclose when content is sponsored or when we have commercial relationships with healthcare providers or advertisers.
  • Non-promotional: We do not make direct commercial recommendations for specific medications, treatments, or providers. We aim to present balanced information about options.

Medical Review Process

All clinical health content follows a structured review process:

  1. Written by qualified health writers with experience in medical writing and knowledge of NHS pathways.
  2. Medically reviewed by a relevant qualified UK healthcare professional (doctor, specialist nurse, or allied health professional registered with the GMC, NMC, or relevant regulatory body).
  3. Fact-checked against primary sources (NHS.uk, NICE guidelines, published clinical studies, BNF).
  4. Approved and published by our editorial team.
  5. Reviewed and updated on a regular basis (at minimum annually, or when significant guideline changes occur).

Every article displays the reviewer’s name, credentials, and the date of last medical review. For full details, see our Medical Review Policy.
